About Us

Age Connects Morgannwg is the leading charity working with older people living in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Bridgend and Merthyr Tydfil (the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board footprint). We have a strong history with over 45 years of supporting older people and their families through some of the most difficult times in their life. We also have a proven track record of listening to older people, learning what’s important to them and caring about the way they are treated, perceived, and portrayed.   

About the Job

Job Purpose

 

An exciting role that will ensure Cynon Linc is established as a thriving Community Hub. Under the direction of the Cynon Linc Manager the role will ensure that Cynon Linc is a safe and welcoming space for visitors.


The post will comprise three components:

 

Operational

  • Ensure an on-site presence throughout the week, opening or closing the building and following all security procedures.
  • Ensure all mandatory and essential tests are completed and maintain inspection logs.
  • Ensure emergency procedures are carried out in the event of a fire, flood, break-in, accident, or major damage and be a nominated keyholder and point of contact for security and fire alerts.
  • Ensuring all equipment within Cynon Linc is monitored and in good condition (inc. fire extinguishers).
  • Maintaining the upkeep, general maintenance and improvement of the exterior and interior of Cynon Linc.
  • Basic cleaning duties when required (e.g., during absences of the Cleaning Company).
  • Ensuring all Health and Safety guidelines are up to date and adhered to and relevant paperwork completed.

 

Customer Service

  • Ensure all organisations and visitors to Cynon Linc have a positive experience.
  • Deal with any issues or complaints in an appropriate manner.
  • Ensuring all rooms are set up and prepared to the requirements of the Community Hub Lead and Hub Support Officer.

 

Teamwork

  • Effectively communicate and build working relationships with Cynon Linc users, staff, volunteers, and trustees.
