Volunteering with Age Connects Morgannwg is about giving your time to do something meaningful and rewarding. Whether you’re supporting an older person one-to-one, helping out at our busy community hubs, assisting with administration, or supporting fundraising and events, your contribution makes a real difference. Every hour our volunteers give helps older people stay connected, supported, and independent.
We don’t currently have any volunteer vacancies, but if you’re interested in joining the team, please keep an eye on this page as we’ll update it with new opportunities as they become available.
Volunteering isn’t just about giving – it’s also about gaining. Many of our volunteers tell us their time with Age Connects Morgannwg has been rewarding in ways they never expected. Here are just some of the benefits:

Volunteering Roles at ACM
Volunteering with ACM can take many forms.
- Be a Befriending or Telephone Befriending volunteer, supporting someone who feels lonely or isolated. Your conversations, companionship, and encouragement can make a huge difference to their confidence and wellbeing.
- Help older people stay connected and safe online as a Digital Volunteer at our Digital Cafes or Scam Awareness events. You’ll help them use technology with confidence, from video calls to managing online security.
- Support our busy community hub in Aberdare, assisting at events, helping our restaurant or reception team, and meeting lots of people along the way.
- Be an Admin Volunteer, helping the ACM team with paperwork, phone calls, and organisation, making sure our services run smoothly.
- Get involved in fundraising, either by running your own event or supporting one of our charity initiatives. Every penny raised helps local older people stay independent, socially active, and supported.
- Provide transport as a Volunteer Driver, helping people get to appointments or social activities, ensuring they can stay connected to their community.
Each of these roles brings its own challenges and rewards, and no two days are the same.
