Get Connected
Digital skills are crucial for older people, they enhance connectivity, access to information, and independence. Mastering technology enables us to stay in touch with family and friends through social media and video calls, reducing feelings of isolation. It also grants access to a wealth of information and services, from online banking and shopping to health and government resources, making daily tasks more manageable.
Additionally, digital literacy can provide opportunities for learning and entertainment, promoting cognitive health and engagement. As the world becomes increasingly digital, having these skills ensures we can all fully participate in and benefit from modern society.

Meet our Connect & Save Officer
Jake Palmer is local to Rhondda Cynon Taf and is passionate about equality, inclusion, and ensuring that people receive the support they need to live well. Since graduating from university, he has focused on roles that enable him to make a positive difference in people’s lives - an ambition that led him to join Age Connects Morgannwg.
In his previous role with Caerphilly Council, Jake contributed to the development of a long-term strategy to improve economic, social, environmental and cultural wellbeing across the area. He also worked closely with service veterans, gathering their views on how support could be improved and producing a report for the Regional Armed Forces Liaison Officer. This work helped inform the development of new services tailored to their needs.
