Quick-Fire Questions
What do you do in your role?
I act as a link worker to local services for people recently diagnosed with dementia. However, I am more than a connector to services; I am a friend, a confidante and a holistic support system to my client and their loved ones.
What do you enjoy most about working on the team?
I support people living with dementia, and their loved ones, across the Bridgend area, helping them navigate change with confidence, care and hope. My work is about listening deeply, offering emotional and practical support, and helping people stay connected with what matters to them. She believes wellbeing grows through connection, dignity and being truly heard.
What motivates you in your work supporting people Living with dementia?
The shared values. Being part of a team that genuinely cares about people, not just outcomes, makes a huge difference. I love the openness, mutual respect and the way everyone brings their whole selves to the work. It feels safe, supportive and collaborative.
Share a moment that made you feel proud of your work.
A moment that stays with me is when someone told me they felt “more like themselves again” after being listened to, at their own pace, without judgement. Knowing that my presence helped someone feel calmer, more confident, or less alone reminds me why this work matters.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
I enjoy time outdoors with my family – longboarding, beach days and woodland walks. I’m also guilty of getting lost in gardening, once I get started..
Tell us one fun fact about you!
I can’t walk through a town without talking to buskers and traders or take a bus ride without talking to other passengers. I just think people are wonderful and I love how there is always a fascinating story, a commonality and laugh just waiting to be celebrated.
A huge thank you to Louisa for the incredible difference she makes every day!
