Quick-Fire Questions
What do you do in your role?
I lead the team of Memory and Wellbeing guides and Activities Coordinators at Age Connects Morgannwg, each day is different, and it is always busy. There is no typical day, but on any given day I could be involved in coaching team members, liaising with our referral partners, speaking with clients, visiting care homes, attending work stream meetings and overseeing quality assurance.
What do you enjoy most about working on the team?
Supporting the team to deliver the best, person-centred support that we can offer, they are all incredibly dedicated to the work we do and really strive to make a difference to the people that we support.
What motivates you in your work supporting people Living with dementia?
My motivation comes from both personal experience and many years of supporting people living with dementia. Supporting my own mother through a rare form of dementia gave me a deep understanding of the challenges individuals and families face, and for the past sixteen years I’ve been committed to helping others navigate those same moments.
Share a moment that made you feel proud of your work.
Being part of a service that fills a long‑standing gap—one that offers guidance, reassurance and a friendly ear—is incredibly meaningful to me. I believe strongly in the difference we make, and seeing the impact on the people we support inspires me every day.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
Live music, travel, cooking, and spending as much time as possible outdoors, with my husband, and my rescue dog, Banjo.
